Kirsten Archibald
Sixth Grade Teacher

Kirsten Archibald was born in Germany and grew up in Iran, Indonesia, Germany and England. She earned a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics. After college, she spent a couple of years in Zambia and South Africa before coming to the United States to attend graduate school. She earned her MBA from Cornell University and met her husband during her studies. 

When looking for a suitable school for her children, Kirsten discovered Waldorf education. She was soon hired to teach German classes at the Washington Waldorf School and completed her Waldorf Teaching Certificate through Antioch University. Kirsten has taught grades 1-12 at three different Waldorf Schools. 

She joined Gathering Waters Charter School in 2022 as a high school humanities teacher and then took on the position of Student Life Administrator. After a short break, Kirsten is excited to teach middle school this year. 

Outside of school, Kirsten loves to knit, garden, read and make pottery as well as traveling the world.
