Traffic Flow & Parking
Clear, considerate traffic routines help create a calm start and finish to the school day—and help us remain good neighbors in downtown Keene. Please take a moment to read through both Lower and Upper School procedures.
Lower School Traffic Flow
LOWER SCHOOL DROP-OFF
Drop-off begins at 7:30am outside on the playground.
Parents can choose to either park on the south side of Church Street (facing the school) and walk their child up to the play yard OR drop off at the car line.
Our drop-off lane will be on Wilber Street heading east "up the hill."
Please remember to drive slowly and carefully on Wilber Street. Cars will line up, pulling just off of the street, beginning at the furthest end of the parking lot entrance and down Wilber Street. Cars must turn right onto Wilber Street while heading north from S. Lincoln Street. Cars must not turn left on Wilber Street from S. Lincoln Street (and thus "cut" in the car line that may reach to S. Lincoln Street).
IF YOU ARE LATE TO SCHOOL
After 8:00am (for grades 1–5) students arriving late need to stop at the Main Office to get a tardy slip and check in with Ms. Maria before going to their classroom. If your child is going to be later than 15 minutes or is going to be absent, please call the Main Office at (603) 733-8701.
LOWER SCHOOL PICK-UP
Pick-up starts at 3:00pm sharp.
In the afternoon only, the car line is now reversed—coming “down the hill” on Wilber Street, moving through the parking lot, and exiting left onto Wilber Street toward S. Lincoln Street.
Enter Wilber Street from Water Street.
Stay to the right (on the correct side of the road) while traveling down Wilber Street until entering the parking lot. Do not pull over and park or drive on the grass.
Turn left into the school parking lot.
Travel clockwise through the lot.
Follow directions from staff.
Exit by turning left onto Wilber Street and then onto S. Lincoln Street.
Students will be waiting in class lines on the wood chip area of the playground, near the gaga ball pit. Staff will call students when their ride arrives.
Family Reminders
Park only on the south side of Church Street. Cars parked on the north side will be ticketed.
Refrain from turning around in private driveways.
Do not leave cars idling if parked.
Drive slowly and carefully for the safety of our students and staff.
Upper School Traffic Flow
UPPER SCHOOL DROP-OFF
Drop-off begins at 7:30am at the Spring Street entrance of our Upper School building.
The car line comes from Washington Street and turns right onto Spring Street. We ask that cars pull up as far as they can past the entrance of the building so that we don't cause a traffic jam on Washington Street.
IF YOU ARE LATE TO SCHOOL
Any students arriving after 8:00am must check in at the front desk before going to their classroom.
UPPER SCHOOL PICK-UP
The pick-up line begins no earlier than 3:05pm. There will be staff members directing traffic and assisting students with finding their rides. Be respectful of faculty direction and others in the car line.
The car line comes from Washington Street, turns right onto Spring Street, then turns right at Washington Park Apartments. Follow the road around our building, keeping Gathering Waters on your right-hand side. During pick-up ONLY, the car line will travel against the “Do Not Enter” signage to wrap around the building.
Students are to be picked up in our front yard, and then the car line exits turning right onto Washington Street. Please refrain from getting out of your cars or holding up the line once you have your child(ren). We appreciate your help with keeping the carline as quickly paced as possible while being safe and orderly.
