Katie Schwerin
Board Member
Katie Schwerin has been a dedicated advocate for Waldorf education for more than 30 years, with deep roots in the Monadnock region. A former class teacher at Monadnock Waldorf School, she led two classes through multiple grades and later served as Faculty Chair, College Chair, and Board Member, helping guide the school’s governance and strategic direction. She also contributed to the broader Waldorf movement through her work with the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America as a board member and leadership facilitator.
Beyond her educational work, Katie recently retired as Chief Missions Officer at W.S. Badger Co., following 14 years as Chief Operations Officer, and is a co‑founder and former leadership team member of Project Home, a Keene‑based organization focused on housing. She brings extensive experience in leadership, organizational development, HR, and group facilitation.
As a grandparent of Gathering Waters students, Katie is deeply committed to the school’s integrated K–12 program and its strong foundation in math, science, and the arts. She looks forward to supporting the school’s healthy growth and strengthening its connection to the wider Keene community.
