BOARD OF TRUSTEES
EMPLOYMENT
The Board of Trustees of Gathering Waters is responsible for deciding legal, financial, and policy issues of the school. The Board consists of parents, staff, faculty, and other community members, and works in collaboration with the administration to ensure that the school’s academic programs and operations are successful. Board meetings are held in-person each month, and all community members are welcome to join.
The Role of the Board
The Board of Trustees serves as the guardian of the school’s long-term sustainability, particularly its financial and legal health. It hires and reviews the School Principal and grants authority to the Leadership Team to lead and manage the school. Representing the Gathering Waters community, the Board sets all major policies that guide the school’s direction. These policies are carried out by the administration, which develops the rules, regulations, and procedures for daily operations. Except in rare or acute situations, the Governance Structure does not call for the Board to be involved in day-to-day operational or management matters.

Serving on the Board
Trustees serve two-year terms and may be renewed once, for up to four consecutive years. We warmly welcome community members who feel called to bring their expertise, commitment, and heart in service of the school.
Board Meeting Minutes
All are warmly invited to attend Board meetings. They are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6–8 p.m. in the Upper School Library and are always posted on the school calendar. Minutes are recorded at every meeting and shared within three days so our community can stay informed and engaged.
Policies & Notices
As part of our legal responsibilities to the State of New Hampshire and our wider community, we maintain a set of board policies for reference. These documents help ensure transparency, accountability, and consistent guidance for our school.
