Volunteering
Volunteering at the school and for school events is an important and meaningful way to stay engaged in your child's educational experience. We encourage parents, guardians and other important adults in the lives of our students to participate in the life of the school.
“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.”
With safety in mind, we owe it to our parents and our students to make sure that any adult volunteer, driver, or chaperone accompanying them does not have a criminal background. All volunteers working directly with students, including chaperones and drivers on trips, must undergo fingerprinting and a criminal background check as part of the Designated Volunteer approval process. This does not apply to the craft fair, or our school festivals. For planning purposes, it can take up to two weeks for a completed background check to be returned to Gathering Waters.

It is important that all of our volunteers read and understand our Designated Volunteer Policy. The document below outlines the criteria and procedure for becoming a Designated Volunteer at Gathering Waters.
