Upper School Math Teacher
Shana’s innate sense of herself as a teacher and her curiosity about mathematical relationships are threads that run through her life. After studying physical sciences and engineering in college, she focused on sharing her love of math with others. Moving to the East Coast from northern California, she earned a M.Ed. from Keene State College and more recently a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Boston University. Shana has taught students in elementary school through college, most often introductory algebra. Her classes reflect a belief that mathematics is an accessible, playful, and interconnected field of study. When not dreaming up lessons for her students, Shana enjoys doing yoga, knitting and weaving, taking walks in the woods, and spending time with friends.
