Jan Lyndes (she/her)
Movement Teacher
Growing up in Vermont as the youngest member of a seventh-generation family instilled in Jan a deep appreciation for nature. After earning her BA from the University of Arizona, she ventured to Alaska, where she married, built a hand-crafted home, and started a family off the grid. It was in this immersive natural setting that Jan discovered her passion for Anthroposophy, particularly its applications in Biodynamic Farming and Waldorf education.
In 2008, Jan earned her Master of Education in Waldorf Teaching and Public Certification from Antioch University New England. Since then, she has furthered her expertise as a Level III Spatial Dynamics trainer. Prior to transitioning to Waldorf education, Jan worked in Deaf Education as an ASL Interpreter.
Since relocating to New Hampshire in 2006, Jan has taught at various institutions, including Monadnock Waldorf School, Kroka Expeditions, Austine School for the Deaf, and Gathering Waters Charter School. For the past seven years, she has had the honor of teaching and mentoring Waldorf teachers through Antioch University and the Center for Anthroposophy.
Jan’s two adult sons, both graduates of Monadnock Waldorf School, are currently finishing up their degrees at the University of New Hampshire—one in Engineering and the other in Pure Mathematics.
